The Danish Whisky Calendar

Smagning.com invites once again, in collaboration with Restaurant Romarin, to an exciting whisky dinner focusing on enjoyment, outstanding cuisine and sublime whisky, many of which are difficult or impossible to obtain in Denmark.

This time, under the guidance of Dennis Klindrup from Smagning.com, we will have a welcome drink, followed by a delicious 5-course menu with exquisite whiskies. We are still planning the menu, but it will be of the same standard as in February 2026. Back then the menu was:

Velkomstdrink
A surprise - but of course delicious!

Forret
Scallops with cauliflower purée and crispy bacon.
Served with a Kavalan Concert Master Port Finish!

Mellemret
Smoked venison haunch carpaccio with cranberries, mushrooms and pickled red onions.
Served with an Annandale Man o'Sword 10-year Single Cask with light smoke!

Hovedret
Long-braised beef cheek with celery purée, baby potatoes and whisky glaze.
Served with a Danish whisky, namely Thornæs Sofia, which with its maturation provides a perfect match!

Efterret
Mobier French cheese from Jura and a piece of Saint Agur, served with fig compote.
Paired with The Cally 40-year - the most expensive and oldest whisky we have ever taken to a whisky dinner. We're going all-in on the whisky!

Dessert
Poire Belle Hélène with chocolate and vanilla ice cream.
Paired with a Widow Jane Rye Mash, matured in Oak & Apple Wood!

Coffee/tea
Paired with a Glenfiddich Solera Fifteen! Total elegance from Speyside...

Important information: This is a "pairing" of food and whisky. That means we cannot change dishes with their accompanying whisky, as it will alter the taste experience. We can to a limited extent accommodate allergies - contact us if this is relevant.

In three decades we have let the drops mature – be the first to get a ticket to a true jubilee.
For the 30th time we awaken the senses and invite you in to the Whisky Fair.

It will be a celebration on a grand scale; a fair that has rested in the finest casks and now presents entirely new nuances. We have lavished extra care on the details and blended an experience that will leave a long, unforgettable aftertaste. There's news about VIP guest tickets as well.

In 2001–2025 Diageo released a Special Release Series of whisky once a year. Always fantastic bottlings, always cask strength. The release has almost been like Christmas Eve for whisky enthusiasts.

Now, unfortunately it's over, at least for a while. That shouldn't prevent us from holding a Special Release tasting, because fortunately we have some (few) bottles from previous series left.

We'll go through this outstanding menu (subject to change):

Cardhu 14 years SR21 – 55.5%, matured in refill bourbon, finished in red wine casks!
Pittyvaich 30 years SR20 – 50.8%, matured in first-fill bourbon. The distillery closed in 1993!
Cameron Bridge 26 years SR22 – 56.2%, matured in refill bourbon!
Glen Elgin 18 years SR17 – 54.8%, matured in "sherry style butts" and refill European oak!
Singleton of Glen Ord 14 years SR18 – 57.6%, matured in 5 different casks!
Clynelish 12 years SR22 – 58.5%, matured in refill bourbon and PX/Oloroso casks!
Talisker 8 years SR21 – 59.7%, heavily peated and matured in refill bourbon!
Lagavulin 12 years SR23 – 56.4%, finished on Don Julio Añejo casks!

1.5 cl of each whisky will be poured to keep the tasting price as low as possible.

After the tasting there will be an opportunity to purchase the tasted bottles (limited quantities) at attractive prices.

We will not taste on an empty stomach. Therefore we begin the tasting with the dish of the day from Restaurant Romarin. You have the option to purchase beverages of your choice with the meal (the restaurant's BYO concept unfortunately does not apply in connection with this tasting).

The festival ticket includes:

• Thy Whisky Glass

• 10 tokens for whisky (value 150 DKK)

• Day program with Experiences in the Distillery and the courtyard

• Access to tastings*, workshops and experiences across the entire farm.

• Evening program with whisky tasting around the bonfire (4 whiskies)

*Tastings require a separate ticket. The final tasting program for the day and tickets for tastings will be released no later than 1 April 2027.
