Craigellachie Distillery Résumé
History
Craigellachie Distillery was founded in 1896 by John Dewar & Sons. It is the only Scottish whisky distillery built by the Dewar family, and production began in 1898. The distillery is located in Aberfeldy, Perthshire, and has a rich history with a focus on quality and craftsmanship.
Production
The distillery uses a unique process called "double aging," where the whisky is first aged, then blended and aged again to achieve extra smoothness. The natural water source from Pitilie Burn, which runs by the distillery, plays a central role in production.
