Teaninich Distillery Résumé
History
Teaninich Distillery was founded in 1817 by Captain Hugh Munro. It was the first distillery north of Inverness to have electricity and a telephone in 1887. Over the years, the distillery has developed, but it is still less well known than some of its neighbors in the Highland region.
Production
The distillery uses traditional production methods, including a unique 2.81 distillation process, which contributes to its characteristic flavor. Teaninich is known for its use of both European and American oak casks for maturation, which gives a complex flavor profile.
