Old Kempton Distillery
History
Old Kempton Distillery was founded in 2012 by a group of friends with a passion for whisky and a belief that the combination of skilled people and the finest Tasmanian ingredients would result in exceptional whisky. In 2015, the distillery moved to the historic Dysart House in Kempton.
Production
The distillery uses traditional, hands-on methods for whisky production. They use only Tasmanian barley and water, which gives a rich malt profile and an oily mouthfeel. The distillery has an annual production that includes small batches of whisky, and they focus on cask selection and maturation to ensure high quality.
