History
-
DEVINE Distillery is a family-owned craft distillery on Saanich Peninsula in British Columbia. The company was founded and run by Kevin & Kirsten Titcomb and has been family-owned and run since 2007. They describe themselves as a certified craft distillery that produces award-winning small batches and combines innovative thinking with tradition. They focus on showcasing local terroir through ingredients grown in the local community and are involved in all steps from farm to glass.
-
Brünhilde – the distiller
Brünhilde is described as the heart of the distillery, a German-named hybrid copper pot still that gives the distillers flexibility to make different production styles and requires manual handling.
-
Sustainability and Agriculture
The company prioritizes sustainability and environmental responsibility: they farm their property naturally, collaborate with local farmers, and have water-reduction and recycling strategies in production to nurture the soil they steward.
-
From Field to Glass
They emphasize having their hands on every step of the process—from the fields at local farmers to hand-labeling the bottles, underscoring their connection to the spirits.
Production and Raw Materials
-
Production is carried out on-site with an age-old, traditional approach to fermentation and distillation. They use exclusively BC-grown grains, fruit, and honey and do not add additives, preservatives, or artificial flavors. No neutral grain spirit is used.
-
They practice water reduction and recycling in production and work closely with local farmers to nurture the soil along the Saanich Peninsula.
-
Distiller Brünhilde and the hands-on approach are evident in all products and in the close connection to the raw materials and processes—from field to bottle.
