Macduff Distillery Resume
History
Macduff Distillery was founded in 1896 by John Dewar and his sons, John Alexander and Tommy Dewar. It is the only Scottish whisky distillery built by the Dewar family. The distillery is located in Aberfeldy, Perthshire, and production began in 1898. For over 150 years, Dewar's has been known for its quality and has earned many awards.
Production
The distillery uses a unique four-step aging process that ensures an extra-smooth whisky. This process involves the whisky aging first, then being blended, aging again, and finally finished in different types of sherry casks. The distillery also uses water from Pitilie Burn, which is renowned for its quality.
