History
Old Carrick Mill is a craft distillery run from an old grain mill dating back more than two centuries. It is located in Carrickmacross, County Monaghan, and the distillation is set up on site by the old mill. The history leads on to the world-famous B&G wine estates in Bordeaux and the Barton family. The owner and founder Steven Murphy discovered the connection and travelled to meet the team at B&G at Chateau Magnol to trace the connection through generations.
As a gift for their hard work, B&G gave 50 of their Chateau Magnol red wine casks to Steven and Old Carrick Mill to store the whiskey.
Today we see the release of this whiskey. Two special casks from the 50 were selected as the first release:
Cask 1...
This cask was chosen for its ability to rest at 46% ABV and showcase Rogues' Reserve. 70 cl, 46% ABV, 555 bottles, each bottle with its unique number, in a branded gift box and bag.
Cask 2...
This cask was selected for a different reason: it is the first cask at cask strength. Deep color and ruby fruit notes suit 59% ABV. 70 cl, 59% ABV, 449 bottles, each with a unique number, in branded gift box and bag.
A sight to see. Irish Whiskey. Now sold out (Cask 2).
