History
- Third Wind Distilling Company was founded by the Lange family in Bay City, Michigan in early 2020. It is described as the first legal distillery in Bay County, Michigan, registered with federal authorities as dsp-mi-20118. The family, who grew up by Lake Huron and the Great Lakes, wanted to create a business and a brand of craft spirits that all of Michigan can be proud of. The distillery was created to encapsulate the culture, adventure, and spirit of the Great Lakes. 'Third wind' is a reference to perseverance and the drive to continue after the second wind has come and gone. We are family-owned and operated. The founders are (from the left) Ken Lange, Kameron Lange, Khloe Lange, David Lange and Konnor Lange.
