History Old Home Distillers is a family-owned farm distillery located near Lebanon, New York. The Carvell family, led by Jerry and Marlene, has brought together three generations in the effort to create fine spirits. Since 2015 they have mashed, fermented, and distilled small batches of bourbon, whiskey, gin and other specialties from scratch using 100 percent NYS-grown corn and local ingredients. It is a place where the family name is on every bottle and where authenticity and craftsmanship are highly valued. The property has been transformed from a 100-year-old barn into a functioning distillery, and has since been expanded with a warehouse building for casks and a grain-handling facility. The distillery sits on its historic farm and is driven by a close collaboration between family and the farm's resources.

Production

From Farm to Glass

Old Home Distillers produces small, handcrafted batches and does not churn out bulk spirits. Production takes place on the farm in a renovated 100-year-old barn, where mashing, fermentation and distillation occur on-site. They mash only NYS-grown grain and use natural water from the farm's deep spring wells. The small-batch approach allows for special products without compromising the purity and integrity of the craft.

Ingredients and Style

The mash bill consists of corn from Vernon Center, malted barley from Western and Central NY, and rye malt from Hudson Valley. All products are distilled and bottled on the farm, and emphasis is placed on delivering a creative range without purchasing bulk spirits. The products highlight the local ingredients and the regional flavors from Central New York.
