• New Scotland Spirits is the culmination of a childhood dream: to distill corn spirits grown in the fields where New Scots gather to watch Memorial Day fireworks.

• The modern history: Around 1660 the Town of New Scotland was settled by Europeans; it was officially founded in 1832 from Bethlehem. The area covers about 60 square miles and has a close-knit community of about 10,000 residents. Towns and villages such as Voorheesville are part of the area. The inhabitants call themselves New Scots and identify with the unique New Scottish identity that honors agrarian life and small-town community.
