Overview of the Distillery

Moses Lake Distillery is located in Moses Lake, Washington, and was founded in 2020 by Zachary Hughes. With support from his wife Liz, the distillery began operating in April 2021. Behind the project is Zachary's hands-on experience from time spent with an acquaintance in the distilling industry, as well as a desire to establish a local distillery in the area.

History

The story begins with Zachary Hughes's time after high school, when he served in the United States Marine Corps and subsequently lived on Oahu, Hawaii. In 2015 he met Liz, who worked as a bartender, and the couple's shared interests later led them through work and relocations, including to San Diego. In San Diego, Zach gained hands-on experience at a friend's distillery, where he followed the distillation and aging processes and spent a lot of his free time in the distillery. Later, the couple moved back to the Moses Lake area. When Zach saw that there were no local distilleries in town, Moses Lake Distillery was founded in 2020, and with Liz's help the place was in operation from April 2021.
