Backwards Distilling Company
About the Distillery
Backwards Distilling Company is a family-owned distillery from Mills, Wyoming, which since 2014 has built a profile both as a producer and as an experience destination. The company runs tasting rooms in downtown Casper and in Laramie and produces a wide range of spirits, including American whiskey, bourbon, gin, vodka, rum and moonshine. The names and presentation are playful and theatrical, while the production remains based in Mills.
History
The distillery was founded in 2014 in Mills, Wyoming by the Pollock family. In the years following the establishment, the company has grown from the original production base and expanded with guest-oriented locations, including a downtown tasting room in Casper and an additional tasting room in Laramie. Operations and ownership remain in the family, which is behind both production and the local sales and tasting offerings. The history is defined by a balance between production in Mills and an increased focus on presence in urban environments through tasting rooms.
Whiskeys
The range covers several types of spirits. The list includes, among others, American Whiskey and specific names such as 11 Graves Whiskey and Frankenbourbon, as well as a selection of gin, vodka, rum, absinthe and moonshine. The products are presented under themes such as 'Main Attraction', 'Side Show' (limited/experimental releases) and 'Backstage' (former projects). In addition to the bottles in the lineup, the tasting rooms offer direct-to-consumer sales and online sales with shipping to selected states.
