Historie

Tommyrotter Distillery opened in July 2015. The distillery sits in a 116-year-old factory in Buffalo's historic Hydraulic Manufacturing District. It was founded by Bobby Finan and Sean Insalaco. According to the legend, the name Tommyrotter comes from The Tommyrotters’ Club, a group of rebellious artisans in the early 20th century who broke with the Arts and Crafts movement to create for the makers' sake. They sought adventure, mischief, and inspiration in nature. With their industrial spirit of backbone, hand and heart, Tommyrotter Distillery produces small-batch spirits.

People often think we are bigger than we actually are. We distill or produce, bottle, brand, and package all of our products on our 2,700-square-foot production floor. With a small crew of rotating distillery workers, our modest team produces all of our annual output right in downtown Buffalo.

The products are distributed in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Pennsylvania, and Tommyrotter Distillery has built a loyal regional following in the Northeast for its flavorful products and distinctly clean packaging. The young distillery has Double Gold, Best in Show, and Silver at the NY World Wine & Spirits Competition and the SF World Spirits Competition.

Napa Valley Heritance Cask Straight Bourbon Whiskey

This bourbon is composed of three separate straight bourbons from Indiana and finished in Taub Family Selections Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon French oak barrels for 3 months. Non-chill filtered and bottled at 95 proof. Mash Bill: 85% corn, 9% wheat, 2% rye, 4% barley. Nose: sweet honey. Taste: vanilla and brandied cherry. Age statement is not listed. Awards: 2022 Ultimate Spirits Challenge – 95 points; 2021 NY International Spirits Competition – Gold Medal (94 points).

Cider Cask Finished Tennessee Straight Whiskey (Masterwork Collection)

Limited release: a Tennessee straight whiskey distilled in Tennessee in a bourbon mash style, aged for 7 years in recharred white American oak barrels and finished in hard cider casks from Black Bird Cider Works. Proof: 95. Mash Bill: 84% corn, 8% rye, 8% barley. Age: 7 years. Nose: candied fruit and light caramel. Taste: soft, full-bodied, sweet classic bourbon character with rye-spice finish and subtle cocoa undertones. Awards: Whiskey Advocate 90 points.
